When Cannon Frank was asked to remodel a home for an international business couple who have homes in London, three homes in Miami and a home in Ghana, Africa, not only was it exciting to work with this young dynamic couple, it was thrilling to work with such a sophisticated family. All of the clients’ other homes are very chic and contemporary. However, upon first seeing this home, John Cannon was taken aback by the lackluster style but forged through a design process, which required gutting much of the dated architectural elements throughout the house, the kitchen, the baths, all of the wiring and covering the fireplaces with limestone slabs to eliminate the unattractive brick.

The house has a harmonious feeling of ivory limestone, dark walnut floors and custom walnut millwork throughout the home, which allows the cohesive space to have a cleaner look and a larger appearance. The home is now wonderful for entertaining, the study has plenty of places for several people to work, the kitchen is twice the original size and more open to the living spaces, and all the audio and video throughout the residence is accessible from anywhere in the house or even on an iPhone. The look is universal with a neutral color palette and rich textures, luxurious woods and clean lines. With new and improved details and new landscaping, Cannon Frank brought this house into the clients’ international collection of homes and it fits their lifestyle and personalities perfectly. This home is where the family connects from various travels from around the world and allows them to unwind out by the pool and enjoy the tranquility by their pond.
